Goh Yong Kiat

Goh Yong Kiat is a rare individual: a senior manager in the aerospace industry who is also an avid aviation enthusiast and historian. This home-grown talent has just published his fifth book, a pictorial history of the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) entitled “Full Spectrum Force.”

Goh’s backlist includes histories of air logistics in the RSAF, and the history of Tengah airbase. But his major work was “Where Lions Fly,” a comprehensive history of aviation in Singapore, which was published in 2012 and is still available from Straits Times Press.

F-16 and F-15SG

Another Singapore Airshow brings another aerial duet from the local air arm. Last time, the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) paired a Lockheed Martin F-16 fighter with a Boeing AH-64 Apache in a novel fast-and-slow display. This time, an F-16 is in company with RSAF’s latest acquisition, the Boeing F-15SG Strike Eagle.

The Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) AH-64D Apache Longbow multirole combat helicopter prominently displayed at the entrance to Hall A is one of six that participated in the big do-it-yourself exercise in the U.S. last November. It is the first of three that have been reassigned from the RSAF training base in Arizona to No. 120 Squadron, marking the first-ever deployment of international Apaches in Asia.
