Hawker Beechcraft Global Customer Support (GCS) has named Horizontal De Aviación at Aeropuerto Internacional el Dorado in Bogotá, Colombia, an authorized service center to support the Beechcraft King Air line. “The Colombian aviation market is one of the fastest growing Beechcraft aviation segments in Latin America,” said Christi Tannahill, Hawker Beechcraft senior vice president of Global Customer Support.

Bell 206L-3 LongRanger, Simiti, Bolivar, Colombia, June 5, 2007 – The pilot and copilot were killed and four passengers seriously injured when the Colombian-registered Long-Ranger crashed in unknown circumstances in a mountainous area of “hostile rebel activity.” Colombia’s Unidad Administrativa Especial de Aeronáutica Civil is investigating the accident.

Following the fatal crashes of a Piper Navajo on September 1 in Bogotá and an MD-82 operated by Colombian carrier West Caribbean Airlines on August 16 in Venezuela, the Colombian Civil Aviation Authority (Aerocivil) ordered the “indefinite suspension” of all general aviation operations at Guaymaral and El Dorado International Airports in Bogotá, Alfonso Bonilla International Airport in Cali and Jose Maria Cordoba International and Olaya Herrer
