Bombardier Flexjet launched an 11-city tour to showcase the Learjet 85, which will be the next aircraft type addition to its fractional fleet. Besides being able to view the Learjet 85 cabin mockup, attendees will also be able to test drive Rolls-Royce Phantom and Ghost autos and play a World Championship golf course in a Full Swing Golf simulator.

A Pilatus PC-12NG with special Formula 1 livery showing the Sauber C31 race car, will fly the Sauber F1 Team direct to the racetracks of Europe in 2012. On its first mission last weekend, it flew the eight-man team, plus team manager Peter Sauber, to the first race in Spain landing in Sabadell, a small aerodrome with a 3,300ft runway, close to the Barcelona circuit.
For decades, designers have created cup holders with the idea that, like military uniforms, one size fits all, with roughly the same results. One size fits almost nothing. Cups and glasses that are smaller tip over; those with a handle simply won’t fit. And with designers’ recent penchant for odd shapes, such as the square Fiji water bottle, it is a game of trying to fit the square peg in the round hole.
Despite cloudy skies, chilly temperatures and a threat of rain, sunshine broke out just before tee time to signal the start of HAI’s third annual Scholarship Fundraising Golf Tournament. The session represented the perfect kickoff to Heli-Expo 2012 and took place at the Cowboy’s Gold Club, the only NFL-themed facility of its kind in the world.

Russell Rice of Rice Aviation garnered a hole-in-one during the NBAA Chairman’s Challenge Golf Tournament at the Revere Golf Club in Las Vegas. The shot came on the 223-yard hole No. 8 of the Club’s 7,143 -yard, par-72 Lexington Course.

Hawker Beechcraft Premier I, Bever, Switzerland, Dec. 19, 2010–The German-registered Premier I was destroyed when it crashed at Samedan Airport, killing the captain and first officer. The aircraft hit the ground north of the threshold of Runway 21 after the pilots elected to go around after a first missed approach during snowfall.
