St. Augustine Airport in northeast Florida is now the Northeast Florida Regional Airport at St. Augustine. The renaming is intended to facilitate the transition into an asset to help boost local economic growth and attract more aviation-related businesses. The airport is currently served by FBO Galaxy Aviation as well as the airport authority, which rents hangars and sells self-serve avgas.

Last month the FAA selected five airports to participate in the Military Airport Program (MAP). The purpose of the program is intended to provide funding to upgrade military airports for civil or joint use as a means of boosting capacity.
