From a humble beginning with just an MRO setup in Singapore, ST Aerospace has expanded rapidly into a global service-provider in key aviation hubs in the Americas, China, Europe and Singapore. It provides a wide range of airframe services for all Boeing and Airbus aircraft types with capability up to heavy maintenance.
Singapore Technologies Engineering has completed the acquisition of 100-percent equity interest in Volant Aerospace. Volant provides new and refurbished interior parts and support services to aircraft operators, leasing companies, integrators and maintenance, repair and overhaul service providers.
Singapore Technologies Engineering’s (ST Engineering) Vision Technologies Aerospace (VT Aerospace) has made a successful bid for Pemco World Air Services and certain assets including the Boeing 737 freighter conversion supplemental type certificates. The company paid $49.7 million at a bankruptcy auction, a price that includes VT Aerospace’s assuming liabilities estimated at $6.2 million. A spokesman for the company declined to detail the specifics of the liabilities.
Over the past 30 years, Singapore has become a leader in aerospace maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) work and components supplier in the Asia-Pacific region. At the heart of this achievement is the ST Engineering group, whose umbrella covers ST Aerospace and its subsidiary MRO specialists STA Engineering and SASCO.
