StandardAero Business Aviation has expanded its strategic business focus to include the buying and selling of parts for general aviation aircraft. Included in the operation are APUs, whole engines, avionics and airframe components. Initially focused solely on business aviation aircraft, the company has expanded its parts trading services to include regional airlines and air transport components.

StandardAero’s business aviation division, now celebrating its “Century of Service,” is actively expanding its worldwide footprint. The Tempe, Arizona-based company, owned by Dubai Aerospace Enterprise, is one of the largest independently owned maintenance, repair and overall (MRO) organizations in the world.

A spokesman for StandardAero told AIN, “DAE is an investment company that commonly looks at its strategic options for its investments.” DAE acquired the MRO in an August 2007 $1.9 billion buyout of Landmark Aviation and StandardAero Holdings from the Carlyle Group.

Engine manufacturer Pratt & Whitney Canada and the Brazilian maintenance and engineering division of TAP Portugal announced an agreement to provide “comprehensive engine overhaul services for PT6A and PW100 turboprop operators in Latin America.” Engine services will be provided by TAP at its Porto Alegre facility, which offers the region’s only engine test cells.
