The FAA has issued a supplemental type certificate (STC) to Trine Aerospace & Defense for installation of Trine’s retractable camera mount system (RCMS) in the Cessna 208 Caravan single-engine turboprop’s cargo pod.

Advent Aerospace from Rye, N.H., is working on the preparation of two supplemental type certificates (STCs) that will see its patented anti-skid brake system (ABS) become available for the Pilatus PC-12 and Beechcraft King Air 200/300. The ABS is already standard on the Eclipse EA550 and available as an STC retrofit for the EA500.

Genesys Aerosystems is offering details about its HeliSAS helicopter stability augmentation system (HeliSas) and autopilot at Booth 3334. The latest HeliSas recently received an FAA supplemental type certificate (STC) for installation in the Airbus Helicopters EC130T2.

The STC expands Genesys’s range of autopilot certifications for Eurocopter, Bell and Robinson helicopters, according to the Mineral Wells, Tex.-based company, which purchased Cobham Avionics units S-Tec and Chelton Flight Systems in April in a management-led buyout.

The company, which specializes in Caravan modifications and upgrades, maintains a stock of wings and flight controls for immediate exchange and possesses jigs that make it possible to rebuild an entire aircraft.

Cobham Satcom has announced two new Aviator 300 supplemental type certificate (STC) approvals and introduced the Aviator 200S, which features a new compact antenna.

The Aviator 300 received an FAA STC for installation on the Airbus A319, A320 and A321. The STC was developed by Avionics Support Group on an ACJ319 business jet. The company plans to add EASA and Chinese CAAC STCs for the Airbuses as well.

328 Design, part of the 328 Group (Booth 5546), has been awarded two supplemental type certificates that it developed in conjunction with Battle Creek, Michigan-based Duncan Aviation (Booth 4634). Both STCs were for modifications to the Dassault Falcon 900EX. One covers replacement of five single-passenger seats with new seats from UTC Aerospace Systems. The other STC covers replacement of the original CMS/inflight entertainment system with the Rockwell Collins Venue cabin management system and Emteq LED cabin lighting.

Field Aviation has received a supplemental type certificate from the FAA for its proprietary long-range fuel modification for the Bombardier Dash 8-100/200/300. Transport Canada (TC) and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) have also STC’d the modification.

JetTech has teamed with Ultra Electronics Flightline Systems to develop a replacement digital engine display specifically for 500-series Cessna Citations. Pending FAA approval of its supplemental type certificate, Jettech will begin offering kits through its approved FAA certified repair stations.

Indianapolis-based Comlux America expects to receive a supplemental type certificate (STC) for 600-series Bombardier Challengers by the fourth quarter. The STC project installs and certifies the equipment required for operation in airspace requiring Fans/controller-pilot datalink communications. The system incorporates equipment from Universal Avionics Systems, International Communications Group and L-3 Aviation Recorders. Comlux America will start the initial installation in early spring for an unidentified launch customer.

North Flight Data Systems (Booth No. 413) of Shreveport, La., announced here at Heli-Expo that it has received a supplemental type certificate (STC) that adds the Bell 407GX to the list of model 407 series helicopters certified for its CVR/FDR (cockpit voice recorder/flight data recorder) system. It also received STC approval for installation in the Airbus Helicopters AS350B3 and the EC130B4 models.
