Four years after unveiling its next-generation Pro Line Fusion integrated avionics suite, Rockwell Collins (Hall 4 A18) has surpassed major certification milestones. Now the company is leveraging the system up and down the civil aircraft market and across to the military market as well.

At this year’s Paris Air Show, Esterline CMC Electronics (Hall 5 Stand 242) is showing, for the first time, the Cockpit 9000 avionics suite selected as an upgrade for Lockheed Martin C-130 cockpits.
The Rockwell Collins Pro Line Fusion avionics system is “good to go,” reported chairman, president and CEO Clay Jones during an April 21 earnings call. The FAA issued the final in a series of 50 hardware and software technical standard orders (TSO) for the Pro Line Fusion in April, and Rockwell Collins is now working on a supplemental type certificate (STC) for installation in its Challenger 601 test airplane.

The issuance of the STC came a few weeks after the FAA approved the final of 50 hardware and software technical standard orders for Pro Line Fusion.

While it wasn’t able to bring a working model of the device to Geneva, the company is displaying a mockup at EBACE (Stand 7036) to show the unit’s stowable capability.
Bombardier on Thursday renamed its Global Express XRS with the new Global Vision flight deck as the Global 6000. The move is not all that unexpected given that the model became sandwiched between the Global 5000 and the Global 7000 and 8000, the latter two being announced in October at the NBAA Convention.
