Honeywell's T53 engine

Air Technology Engines (ATE) of Naples, Fla., signed a T53 service center agreement with Honeywell, authorizing ATE to repair and overhaul Honeywell’s T53 series engine, which powers the Bell UH-1H Huey and other helicopters.

Eagle Copters of Calgary, Alberta, has delivered its first three single-engine Bell 212 conversions. The “Eagle Single” features a single Honeywell T53-17A or B turboshaft engine in place of the 212’s Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6T-3B Twinpac.

Honeywell has chosen Heli-Expo’06 to announce plans to manufacture an FAA-certified 1,800-shp version of the military T53 turboshaft engine for the Bell 210.
