GA Telesis has received the “Good to Great” award from the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce. The regional award program honors companies based in South Florida that embody ideas from Jim Collins’s bestselling business book Good to Great. The Good to Great Award highlights companies that have shown exceptional growth and development over a four-year period.

GA Telesis received the award for its double-digit growth and global expansion initiatives over the last few years, including the establishment of both GA Telesis Engine Services and GA Innovation China.

GA Telesis has acquired an inventory of new, overhauled, serviceable rotable and expendable material for the Bombardier Q400. The material is available for immediate purchase. All of the components are warehoused at the company’s distribution center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. GA Telesis can also support spare engine needs of Q400 operators.

GA Telesis and Finnair have entered into an agreement in which GA Telesis has acquired part of Finnair Engine Services and will employ 80 engine-service professionals from Finnair’s existing workforce. The deal comprises the sale of assets and transfer of personnel to GA Telesis Engine Services (Gates). Gates has simultaneously entered into a long-term lease of all of the engine maintenance and test cell facilities from Finnair.

GA Telesis has appointed Rebecca Longo to the position of vice president of its Aircraft Systems Group, where she will oversee all airframe component sales from the company’s Fort Lauderdale headquarters. Before joining GA Telesis, Rebecca served as the vice president of Strategic Development for PartsBase in Boca Raton, Fla., where she was responsible for the global sales team as well as oversight of business development strategies.

Air China and GA Telesis have agreed to establish an Asia-based integrated spare parts supplier in China. After almost a year of planning, the companies have respective top management approvals to move forward with the formation of GA Telesis China (GATC), a joint venture based in China. The enterprise claims it will be the first aircraft part-out business and integrated full-scale redistribution stock list based in China covering the entire Asian market.

GA Telesis Component Repair Group Southeast has received a 2011 Boeing Performance Excellence Award. GA Telesis maintained a gold composite performance rating for each month of the 12-month performance period for the second consecutive year. It is one of 122 suppliers to receive the Gold Performance Excellence Award among the 529 Boeing-recognized suppliers that achieved either a Gold or Silver level of recognition. The company supplies Boeing with maintenance, repair and overhaul services for hydraulic, pneumatic and power generation components.

GA Telesis (GAT) has acquired the assets of Curtiss Wright Accessories Services, including its 56,000-sq-ft facility in Miami. It will be rebranded as GA Telesis Component Repair Group Southeast. GAT supports servo controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, hydromechanical, electronics and power generation for Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Embraer and McDonnell Douglas aircraft.

The component MRO, located in a 65,000-sq-ft facility on Tucson International Airport, supports the repair and manufacture of Bombardier, Airbus, Boeing, Douglas and Embraer components, including hydraulics, waste systems, fire detection, oxygen systems, avionics, NDT and composites.
