The FAA granted Innovative Solutions & Support an STC on September 14 for installation of two and four 10-inch display units in the Pilatus PC-12. Like its previous PC-12 approval for installation of two 15-inch display units, IS&S’ new STC includes the cockpit/information portal and TCAS, TAWS and RVSM compatibility.

Looking ahead to technologies that likely will be commonplace in tomorrow’s business jet cockpits, Rockwell Collins has introduced a GPS receiver with WAAS (wide-area augmentation system) capability and a new traffic surveillance system that can host ADS-B (automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast) applications.
Rockwell Collins (Booth No. 265) announced a series of new positions for its Pro Line 21 integrated avionics and previewed future products including a fusion of synthetic vision and infrared enhanced vision which the company calls SE Vision. Denny Helgeson, v-p and general manager for business and regional systems, described four-tube Pro Line 21 suites for the Cessna XLS+ and the new CJ4 and several completed retrofits.

Elliott Aviation has applied for an STC for installation of a flat-panel cockpit upgrade for the Cessna Citation 650, the Moline, Ill. installer announced last month. The upgrade replaces electromechanical and CRT-based EFIS flight instruments with a Universal 890R instrument suite featuring eight- by nine-inch displays.
