Hawker Beechcraft (HBC) has opened an expanded office in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) staffed with six employees–a tech rep and five sales, contract and administrative personnel. The field tech rep will coordinate maintenance with ExecuJet in Dubai, Arabasco in Jeddah and Alkon in Cairo.

Low-cost carrier flydubai announced $74 million in maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) contracts Tuesday at the Dubai Airshow.

The airline signed agreements with Abu Dhabi Aircraft Technologies (ADAT), part of the Mubadala Aerospace MRO network, with a combined value of $54 million.

The plan is for it to break even by 2013, but some latitude is possible on this goal, if the group secures the right partnership opportunities to support its plan to spend around $1 billion building another new facility here in the United Arab Emirates.
