Townsend Leather has introduced a collection of brushed metallic lambskin. The select skins are aniline-dyed and hand-rubbed with a glazing finish that features a metallic glimmer “to accentuate the natural softness and unique textures of individual skins.”

According to the Johnstown, N.Y.-based purveyor of fine leather, while lambskins are relatively small, a skilled upholsterer can create beautiful small chairs, large tufted pieces and pillows.

Charlotte, N.C.-based Goodrich offers an extensive palette of wood and wood veneers along with laser-cutting technology to reduce the amount of waste and ensure precision work. In addition to veneers, the palette includes wood stock appropriate for matching trim as square edge stock or in boule form.

The company’s craftsmen also provide detailed multi-species wood marquetry designs to create custom designs, such as corporate logos.

Perrone Aerospace is at NBAA with “a full selection of its finest leathers and textiles, created specifically for the corporate and private jet market.”
In particular, the Fultonville, N.Y.-based company (Booth No. C9426) will preview its new custom quilted leather for seating design alternatives. The line will allow customers to select from standard designs or submit their own unique designs.

Cabin interiors specialist Lantal is probably best known for its carpets and upholstery, but the Swiss company also has just launched its new Pneumatic Comfort System, which it says makes seats more passenger-friendly. The system’s pressure-adjustable cushions have been in service with Swiss International Airline’s business and first-class long-haul aircraft for the two years and are now available for more widespread use.

At last month’s Ebace, Townsend Leather promoted its latest Milano collection of upholstery leather–four patterns in 14 colors each from rich creams to pewter, all inspired by the ancient Italian city of da Vinci.

The Johnstown, N.Y.-based firm also showed off its new Gerber hide-cutting machine operation, which allows digitized cutting to ensure the best yield from any hide.
