Vector Aerospace, a Vancouver-based maintenance, repair and overhaul service, recently loaded four upgraded Eurocopter AS332L helicopters onto an Antonov An-124 at Vancouver International Airport. Two of the AS332Ls were bound for Australia for use in offshore oil rig servicing contracts and the other two were sent to Afghanistan for utility operations.
Vector Aerospace has added a new 45,000-sq-ft office and hangar complex at its Andalusia, Ala., helicopter MRO facility. The added space doubles the size of Vector’s facility and will fit up to 20 aircraft concurrently, according to the company, as well as facilitate implementation of lean manufacturing processes that will reduce turn-around time for customers. Vector plans to expand the Andalusia workforce to 170 employees from the current 140.
MRO Vector Aerospace has announced that its Vector Aerospace Helicopter Services North America has signed a service agreement with West Coast Helicopters of British Columbia, Canada, effective through the end of next year. The service agreement includes an optional two-year extension in support of its fleet of five Eurocopter AStar B2s, two MD500Ds and a Bell 206. Vector Aerospace will provide coverage for all engines and components.
