Waco, Texas-based Servion has built new facilities and joined the Avfuel network. The newly upgraded FBO is located at Texas State Technical College Waco
Airport and offers courtesy cars, Internet access and snooze rooms for visiting
pilots and passengers.

L-3 Communications Integrated Systems has won the contract for a head-of-state widebody executive/VIP interior. A spokesman declined to reveal the name of the customer or the aircraft type, but said work has already begun on some of the interior components. The airplane is scheduled to arrive at the company’s Texas State Technical College Airport facilities in Waco early next year.

In recent years the city of Waco–population 150,000–has quietly built a reputation as home to a number of prominent aviation and aerospace operations, and since the election of George W. Bush has been the Texas home to Air Force One.

Blackhawk Modifications has received European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) approval for its engine upgrade for the King Air C90A/B. The Waco, Texas firm replaces the C90’s standard engines with two 750-shp Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-135s to give the turboprop twin a true airspeed increase of about 35 knots. Takeoff and climb speeds are also improved, the company said.
