Dallas Airmotive plans to expand its support services in the northeastern U.S. The company will add regional field service representatives and a mobile response vehicle capable of on-site inspections, repair work and carbon seal replacements at Westchester County Airport in White Plains, N.Y., one of the region’s most popular sites for business and general aviation aircraft. Additionally, the company is adding field service representatives throughout the region to improve response time and reduce ground time for repairs.

At its press conference here at NBAA 2013 yesterday, Million Air announced the newest additions to its network and its first base in Florida, following the recent purchase of Avion Jet Center at Orlando Sanford International Airport. The Houston-based company is set to embark on a $3.5 million renovation of the facility, with work starting on the 10,000-sq-ft hangar at the beginning of the year. The location also features a 7,000-sq-ft terminal, which will soon include all the usual Million Air amenities including a theater room and the popular soda bar.
NetJets “soft opened” its new 10,000-sq-ft dedicated passenger terminal solely for the fractional provider’s customers at Palm Beach (Fla.) International Airport last month, almost exactly a year after breaking ground on the facility. A formal grand opening is scheduled for November 6, but AIN was able to get a first look at the new complex just before the NBAA Convention this week.
Charter/management firm ExcelAire (Booth No. C6629) announced last month that it is opening a facility to serve the New York City area at Westchester County Airport in White Plains, N.Y. In addition to charter, the location will offer aircraft management and hangar space. ExcelAire, which operates more than 20 jets throughout the Northeast and Midwest, currently bases two of them at Westchester County–a Dassault Falcon 900 and a newly added Citation CJ3.
Signature Flight Support has expanded its operations at New York’s Westchester County Airport (HPN) with the $38.5 million acquisition of privately owned Jet Systems, one of five FBOs on the field. Formerly Avitat Westchester, the FBO has operated at the airport for 20 years, and its purchase will significantly increase Signature’s presence at HPN and give it locations on both sides of the field, while leaving Panorama Flight Service as the dual-use airport’s last independent FBO.
