Signature Flight Support has chosen the venue of this year’s NBAA Convention to announce several new programs. The BBA Aviation subsidiary, which currently operates a network of more than 115 FBOs worldwide, unveiled a new partnership with secure identification provider Clear, which uses biometric data to speed travelers through airport security. The partnership gives Signature’s customers a discount on registration in the program.

Signature Flight Support and NetJets broke ground today on a 10,000-sq-ft dedicated passenger terminal solely for NetJets customers at Palm Beach International Airport in Florida. The $13 million facility, which will open in the second half of next year, is being developed under a partnership between the FBO chain and fractional provider. Attending the event were Signature and NetJets executives, local elected officials and a half dozen students enrolled in the aviation program at the nearby Boynton Beach Community High School.
The 24th annual AmeriCares Airlift Benefit–which took place October 1 at the Panorama Flight Service hangar at Westchester County Airport in New York–raised $1.4 million for the organization’s worldwide relief efforts. More than 700 guests attended the event, which was hosted by Mika Brzezinski of MSNBC’s Morning Joe show.
While professing satisfaction with what turned out to be record participation at NBAA’s business aviation regional forum at Westchester County Airport yesterday, association president and CEO Ed Bolen emphasized that what really made his day was Kevin Plunkett’s attendance and words of support at the event.
NBAA announced the dates for this year’s four regional business aviation forums. The first takes place on February 17 at the Avitat FBO at Boca Raton (Fla.) Airport. On April 14, Business Jet Center at Dallas Love Field will host the forum, while the third event on June 8 will be held at Panorama Flight Service at Westchester County Airport in White Plains, N.Y.
As part of its good-neighbor program, Westchester County Airport (HPN) in White Plains, N.Y., presented its annual Spirit of Noise Abatement awards at an environmental event organized by the Westchester Aviation Association at the end of May. Since 1994 the program has honored those business aircraft operators who have abided by the airport’s noise-reduction policies during the previous year.

The layout of the first-floor lobby and lounges will be redesigned to allow more convenient ramp access. In addition, the new lobby will feature a refreshment center.
