Jet Aviation Flight Services will operate and manage a U.S.-based fleet of Bombardier Global jets for VistaJet’s Flight Solutions Program, the two Swiss companies announced before the show.

“Our alliance with Jet Aviation Flight Services is key to growing our business in the world’s largest corporate aircraft marketplace,” said Thomas Flohr, VistaJet founder and chairman. “We are confident that the VistaJet customer experience on flights operated by Jet Aviation will be seamless.”

After years of trying, Airbus (Booth No. C11606) has cracked the U.S. VVIP charter market with the first sale of an ACJ318 here, which Airbus believes will significantly increase the visibility of Airbus Corporate Jets (ACJ) in the U.S. The aircraft will be based at Jet Aviation Flight Services in Van Nuys, Calif., one of the busiest general aviation airports in the world, where it will be operated for an undisclosed owner and for Part 135 charter.

After years of trying, Airbus has cracked the U.S. VVIP charter market with the first sale of an ACJ318 today at the NBAA Convention. Airbus believes the sale will significantly increase the visibility of Airbus Corporate Jets (ACJ) in the U.S. The aircraft will be based at Jet Aviation Flight Services in Van Nuys, Calif., where it will be operated for an undisclosed owner and for Part 135 charter. It will be placed on Jet Aviation’s operating certificate for charter late this year or early next year.

Toulouse, France-based Airbus Corporate Jet Centre (ACJC) completed and delivered its 24th ACJ cabin. The aircraft was delivered to an undisclosed customer in the Middle East. According to the company, it developed and integrated more than 15 new technologies into this ACJ319 completion to meet the customer’s requirements for layout design, comfort and systems. The configuration–new for an Airbus ACJ–is based on two main zones, offering a “high level of comfort and services” for 19 passengers.

Airbus has started market research focused on the needs and preferences of the world’s growing population of billionaires. Announcing the project in Moscow on September 9, Airbus Corporate Jets marketing director David Velupillai said that the investigation should be completed by October, with the results to be made public in a report during the following month. The study is intended to look beyond purely aircraft and travel, and will try to collect a broad array of data on billionaire’s lifestyles, habits and hobbies.

Jet Aviation Basel has signed a contract to design and complete the cabin of an A340-600 long-range widebody for an undisclosed customer. Work on the green Airbus will begin in next year’s first quarter.

Jet Aviation’s Basel, Switzerland location signed a completion contract for a private Airbus A340-600 long-range widebody. Work on the green Airbus will start in next year’s first quarter. The A340’s cabin will be configured with dining and lounge areas, two bedroom suites with adjoining bathrooms, office and executive seating areas, as well as high-density aft seating. Jet Aviation completed and delivered two private A340s last year.

Airbus introduced C4you, a new customer care center for its private jet customers that provides dedicated access to an experienced team co-located within Airbus’s Airtac center in Toulouse. Customers will have access to technical advice on both their airframe and their cabin through a single point of contact and will also be able to benefit from packaged services such as arrangements to implement service bulletins.

Airbus has awarded Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) a contract to supply composite rudders for the A330-200 and A330-300 long-range commercial jets. Under the terms of the deal, signed Monday at the Paris Air Show, TAI (Hall 4 E75) will serve as a single-source supplier through the life of the A330. Plans call for rudder manufacture to take place at TAI’s Ankara Kazan facilities in Turkey, from where the company already supplies Airbus A350 XWB ailerons and control surfaces for a number of commercial/military aircraft platforms.
