Jet Aviation Basel will continue to provide completions for the Airbus Corporate Jetliner (ACJ) family, following yesterday’s signing of a five-year agreement between the two companies covering completions services, interior design, engineering, manufacturing, installation and certification.

Middle East Airlines (MEA) has placed a contract for International Aero Engines to support the V2500 engines that power its Airbus A320 fleet. The long-term deal covers turbofans on six aircraft covered by firm orders and three more that the Beirut-based carrier has optioned.     The operator took delivery of the first of these V2500 SelectOne-powered aircraft in January 2009.

The Comlux Group, which became a 40-percent shareholder in the Airbus Corporate Jet Centre (ACJC) in May 2008, has withdrawn by mutual agreement from that partnership to focus on its new facilities in Indianapolis.

The EASA has approved Amac Aerospace Switzerland to perform line and base maintenance as well as interior refurbishments and modifications on the Global Express, Global Express XRS and Global 5000. The operation is also certified for base and line maintenance on the Gulfstream large-cabin series, Airbus A320 single-aisle series, Boeing BBJ series and line maintenance for the Boeing (McDonnell Douglas)MD-80 series.

Aircraft management and charter firm Comlux yesterday placed an order for its tenth Airbus executive jet, making it the largest single operator of the aircraft manufacturer’s bizliners. The $75 million deal signed here at the Dubai show brings Comlux’s total order for ACJs to three, in addition to previous orders for four A318 Elites, two A320 Prestiges and one A330-200 Prestige–a cumulative order value that exceeds $800 million, Airbus said.

Abu Dhabi-based Al Jaber Aviation (AJA), which has four Airbus A318 Elites and two ACJs on order, last week announced plans to start VVIP charter services in the Middle East. The Al Jaber Group, one of Abu Dhabi’s largest diversified companies, formed AJA in 2008 aiming to enter the $1 billion sector, which has 25 percent year-on-year growth, according to Dr. Mark Pierotti, AJA’s chief operating officer.

Airbus Corporate Jet Centre in Toulouse, France, has delivered its third Airbus ACJ-series executive cabin. The aircraft, an A319 owned by a private customer, has a cabin designed by Studio e/motions to seat slightly more than 30 VIPs, guests and support staff. Cabin amenities include satcom, on-demand audio/video and wireless connectivity.

A private Asian customer has placed a firm order for an Airbus A320 Prestige, becoming the first in the region to order the type. Based on the A320 airliner, the Prestige is the largest of Airbus’s family of corporate jets, which includes the A318 Elite and Airbus ACJ.

Bombardier has designated Comlux Completion USA as an official AOG/line maintenance facility for its Learjet, Challenger and Global product lines.
