Bombardier Aerospace third-quarter financial results show total aerospace revenues of $1.8 billion, down from $2.1 billion for the quarter ending October 31, 2009. The total backlog as of October 31 was valued at $16.2 ­billion. The Canadian OEM delivered 33 business aircraft in the third quarter.

Learjet, Challenger and Global operators have a new choice for maintenance in the Middle East now that Bombardier Aerospace has opened a new regional support office (RSO) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It is the sixth Bombardier RSO to open outside North America in the past three years and joins facilities in Mumbai, India; Tokyo, Japan; Sydney, Australia; Shanghai, China; and Munich, Germany.

Bombardier Aerospace has announced the opening of a new regional support office (RSO) in Dubai for its Global, Challenger and Learjet families of business jets. The sixth Bombardier RSO to open outside North America in the last three years, the new office is part of the company's drive to bring aircraft technical expertise, flight operations support and customer account management functions to Bombardier customers in the Middle East.

Bombardier Aerospace has added three AOG line maintenance facilities (LMF)–in Monterrey, Mexico; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; and Riga, Latvia. The company now offers authorized maintenance in 26 countries through its network of 60 service centers, authorized services facilities and AOG LMFs.

The buzz, as these words are written, is that Bombardier planned to unveil a “Super Global” here at the NBAA Convention, and in the end the ­company was not able to maintain complete radio silence. Possibly alarmed at the prospect of too much substantial chatter erupting ahead of time, the company chose to confirm the basic premise of its planned announcement on September 30.

Bombardier Aerospace “is starting to see signs of recovery as shown by the significant reduction in business aircraft order cancellations,” Bombardier president and CEO Pierre Beaudoin said early last month. During the second quarter ending July 31, Bombardier took gross orders for 26 business jets but had 12 cancellations, resulting in net orders for 14 business aircraft.

During the second quarter ending July 31, Bombardier took gross orders for 26 business jets but had 12 cancellations, resulting in net orders for 14 business aircraft.
