JPMorgan North America Equity Research is forecasting a 5-percent rise in business jet deliveries this year, according to the firm’s latest monthly business jet report. It predicts that 627 business jets (excluding very light jets) will be shipped this year, compared with an estimated 596 jet deliveries last year.
Flexjet has launched a new option under its Flexjet 25 Jet Card debit program. The new Coastal Connect offering gives customers improved flight-hour rates when flying across the U.S. in the program’s Bombardier Challenger 300s, operated for Flexjet by Jet Solutions.
“By taking advantage of long-haul operational efficiencies, the Coastal Connect program is able to save travelers thousands of dollars,” said Flexjet president Deanna White.
The nation’s third-largest fractional jet program will continue to pursue a “stealth wealth” clientele while offering them customized solutions to their private aircraft travel needs beyond traditional fractional sales, and that may mean bringing more capital into the company, according to Flexjex president Deanna White.
VistaJet is set to embark on a 17-city tour of Africa this month as part of the operator’s “Think Global” sales campaign to expand its block charter offerings to emerging markets. Last month, the Switzerland-based company took one of its Bombardier Global 6000s on a 12-city tour of Asia, the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Middle East, just days after announcing a contract with the Canadian airframer for 56 new Globals and options on 86 more.
Bombardier of Canada arrived at MEBA on the crest of a wave, having just landed the biggest order for business aircraft in the company’s history.
One of VistaJet’s Bombardier Global 6000 business jets made a brief stop here at the MEBA show on Monday as part of a 12-city promotional tour. The itinerary began in London on December 2 and has included visits to Hong Kong, Beijing, Vladivostok (Russia), Ulan Bator (Mongolia), Almaty (Kazakhstan), Moscow, Kiev, Delhi and Mumbai.
The aircraft was due to fly on to Riyadh in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday before returning to London after a stop in Istanbul. The block charter operator is due to conduct a tour of 12 or more African cities in February.
Many wealthy Middle Easterners visit London at least once a year, usually for a break from the hot summer, so perhaps it is no surprise that the first shop window for business jets is in an up-market area of the UK capital at One Grosvenor Place–just across the road from Buckingham Palace.
The only big-three Middle East airline player to have an executive jet operation, Qatar Executive is expanding its fleet, preparing for the opening of its FBO at New Doha International Airport in 2014, and increasing destination options for its customers.
Fractional provider Bombardier Flexjet launched Coastal Connect under its Flexjet 25 jet card program, which is operated by U.S. air carrier Jet Solutions. The new feature provides special rates for customers who fly to and from designated zones between the East and West Coasts on Flexjet Challenger 300s. The Flexjet 25 jet card starts at $100,000, with the cost of each flight deducted from the debit card balance, which can be replenished via an automatic or manual recharge option.
VistaJet announced a deal today worth up to $7.8 billion for 56 Bombardier Globals, with options for up to another 86. Deliveries of this latest batch of Bombardier jets under firm order are due to begin in January 2014 and run through the end of 2017.
