Fractional provider Bombardier Flexjet launched Coastal Connect under its Flexjet 25 jet card program, which is operated by U.S. air carrier Jet Solutions. The new feature provides special rates for customers who fly to and from designated zones between the East and West Coasts on Flexjet Challenger 300s. The Flexjet 25 jet card starts at $100,000, with the cost of each flight deducted from the debit card balance, which can be replenished via an automatic or manual recharge option.

VistaJet, Bombardier

VistaJet announced a deal today worth up to $7.8 billion for 56 Bombardier Globals, with options for up to another 86. Deliveries of this latest batch of Bombardier jets under firm order are due to begin in January 2014 and run through the end of 2017.

Bombardier Aerospace’s third-quarter revenues were flat at $2.3 billion year-over-year, but pre-tax profits at the Canadian aircraft manufacturer slipped by $6 million, to $123 million. Meanwhile, net deliveries of both regional airliners and business jets stood at 57 aircraft in the quarter, down from 68 a year ago. However, it added net orders for 83 aircraft and built a book-to-bill ratio of 1.5:1, compared with net orders for 34 aircraft during the same period last year.

Bombardier has appointed Flying Colours of Peterborough, Ontario, and its subsidiary JetCorp Technical Services of St. Louis as authorized service facilities (ASF) for its Learjet and Challenger business jets. Flying Colours is known for its new green Challenger 850 completions as a Bombardier- authorized completion center.

Bombardier recently delivered the 200th Challenger 605, with the milestone large-cabin jet going to an unidentified customer. According to Bombardier Business Aircraft president Steve Ridolfi, “The Challenger 600 series was a trailblazer in business aviation and is now the largest fleet in the category worldwide, with more than 850 aircraft in service.” The Challenger 600 first flew on Nov. 8, 1978. The Challenger 601, 604 and 605 variants have followed in the 34 years since.

Calgary, Alberta-based FlyHT Aerospace Solutions has received STC approval for its automated flight information reporting system (Afirs) 228 on several business aircraft types, including the Bombardier Challenger 870/890 and Hawker 750/800XP/850XP/900XP. STC approvals are in progress for the Boeing Business Jets BBJ1 and BBJ2, as well as the Airbus ACJ319/320/321.

Bombardier has appointed Flying Colours of Peterborough, Ontario and its subsidiary JetCorp Technical Services of St. Louis as authorized service facilities (ASF) for the Canadian OEM’s Learjet and Challenger business jet lines.

Flying Colours is known for its new Challenger 850 green completion work for which it works directly with Bombardier as an authorized completion center.

NetJets unveiled its new Bombardier Global 6000 at the NBAA show static display on Sunday. The fractional ownership giant has spent 18 months developing the Signature Series cabin interior for the large cabin aircraft and will also roll out the new design to other new members of its fleet, including the Challenger 605 and 300 models.

Deanna White was named president of Bombardier Flexjet yesterday, following the retirement of Fred Reid, who has been at the helm of the fractional provider since August 2008. The appointment was made “effective immediately,” suggesting the change was sudden. White joined Flexjet in 2005 as the finance director and most recently served as the company’s vice president of finance. “Deanna possesses a passion for driving strategic change and implementing business plans that support the organization’s long-term strategies,” said Bombardier president and CEO Pierre Beaudoin.
