Million Air expects its newest, and 29th, FBO to be open at the Gulfport-Biloxi (Miss.) International Airport by the end of next month, company officials said earlier this week during a media tour of the brand-new facility. The $12 million, 52,000-sq-ft building, which is currently “about 90 percent” complete, sits on a nine-acre site with more than 200,000 sq ft of ramp space.
Nordam Group of Tulsa has filed a lawsuit against Cessna Aircraft, alleging a breach of contract and seeking to prevent the OEM from transferring intellectual property to a competitor, according to court documents. The claim states that unless Cessna is halted, Nordam will suffer more than $30 million in damages. Last Thursday, U.S. Chief District Judge Claire Eagan in Tulsa turned down Cessna’s request to dismiss or move the case to U.S.

The Professional Aviation Maintenance Association is soliciting presentation proposals for its 2011 Great Lakes Airworthiness Symposium in Dayton, Ohio, to be held September 29 and 30. The symposium will open with a full day of seminars followed by a welcome reception and a second day of seminars.

The work done at these plants is being subcontracted out to vendors or moved to Hawker Beechcraft’s facilities in Mexico. In an effort to increase the awareness of Jacksonville, Florida’s aviation system, the city’s aviation authority has renamed three of its owned and operated airports as part of a rebranding campaign. Cecil Field (VQQ) became Cecil Airport, while Herlong Airport (HEG) was renamed Herlong Recreational Airport. The former Craig Airport (CRG) is now Jacksonville Executive at Craig Airport.
