Aircraft interiors specialist EADS Sogerma has some sweet sleep for sale. The Airbus subsidiary formally introduced its “Ultimate Sleeper” premium first- class bed at the Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg in May, promoting it as having “the comfort of a real bed.”
The new passenger terminal at the London Heliport officially opened on Tuesday. The facility is operated and managed by PremiAir on behalf of its parent company, von Essen Group, which is due to open its new Hotel Verta at the same site in September. Eurocopter last month unveiled the EC145 Mercedes- Benz Style, a version of the light twin helicopter that features aesthetic and practical innovations. For example, several seats can be removed to make room for mountain bikes for a weekend trip. To change configurations, seats are mounted on rails and the aft separation wall can slide to change the size of the luggage compartment.
Heritage Aviation is celebrating the opening of its new 79,000-sq-ft FBO at Burlington International Airport in Vermont on May 20. BAE Systems has contracted with Design Q to develop five concepts for the Avro Business Jet (ABJ) and revealed the first of the new designs–the ABJ Explorer–yesterday at EBACE. A unique design element of the Explorer is the “Air Deck” viewing platform adapted from the cargo side-door modification.
