Desert Jet, an aircraft charter company based near Palm Springs, Calif., yesterday launched what it claims is the first air charter quoting program accessible from a social media platform. With the added feature, customers can request quotes for flights directly from the company’s Facebook page.

Hawker Beechcraft King Air C90, Fort Worth, Texas, June 3, 2010–The King Air, owned and operated by the FAA, was substantially damaged when the nose landing gear collapsed on landing at Dallas/Fort Worth Airport. While cycling the gear during an inspector currency flight, the crew reported hearing a loud bang and observed a “gear unsafe” indication.
Aircraft interiors specialist EADS Sogerma has some sweet sleep for sale. The Airbus subsidiary formally introduced its “Ultimate Sleeper” premium first- class bed at the Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg in May, promoting it as having “the comfort of a real bed.”
