In an 8-K filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filed on June 12, Macquarie Infrastructure revealed that it is adding two FBOs at Norman Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC) in Northern California to its acquisition of the Mercury Air Centers FBO chain.

Derco Aerospace has signed a 12-month nonexclusive deal with 3M’s Aerospace and Aircraft Maintenance department to distribute its complete lineup of surface-protection products for a range of military aircraft. The agreement covers the use of 3M protective coatings, which include polyurethane protective boots and tapes that help prevent corrosion and so extend service life.

L-3 Avionics Systems has received STC approval aboard the King Air C90 for its new Iris infrared imaging system for general aviation aircraft, along with FAA Parts Manufacturer Approval. The C90 is the first application for Iris, which a spokesperson said is generating “tremendous interest. We have installation and certification programs under way for many different platforms.”

Enhanced-vision system (EVS) makers Forward Vision and Max-Viz have announced a joint venture to bring lower-cost infrared products to the general aviation market. Allied Capital, the private-equity firm owner of the Mercury Air Centers FBO chain, has agreed to sell its 24 FBOs to Macquarie Infrastructure, a publicly traded Australian company that also owns the Atlantic Aviation FBO chain. The $456.2 million deal includes 24 Allied Capital FBOs, which include Mercury Air Centers (purchased in 2004 from Mercury Air Group), Corporate Wings, FirstAir and IX Jet Center.
