Satcom Direct (Booth No. 3208) announced a new product and upgrades of existing ones at the NBAA show on Monday.

The company’s SD Flight Tracker is a Web-based service designed to deliver precise aircraft global positioning via Inmarsat, Iridium, VHF and broadband networks. It also provides real-time satellite system status and expands the capabilities of Satcom’s FlightDeck Freedom (FDF) service.

FlightAware (Booth No.1693), the first company to offer free flight tracking of private and commercial aircraft, has announced its new FBO Toolbox, a Web-based, market-analysis and flight-tracking application. The new toolbox offers FBO managers an in-depth look into the flying habits of both current and potential customers. Elements of the Toolbox are also available on FlightAware’s just-launched iPhone application.

Kristi Ivey is the flight operations supervisor at the Home Depot Aviation Department at Fulton County Airport in Atlanta. She is also a licensed dispatcher. Working for her are two schedulers and four administrators. She is also the vice chair of the NBAA schedulers & dispatchers committee.

“We take care of everything, and then we put out the fires,” said Ivey, who has been in the Home Depot flight department for six years.
