Airports in the U.S. East Coast escaped largely unscathed by high winds from Hurricane Irene this weekend, though flooding presented a problem at the metro New York City airfields, particularly Teterboro and Caldwell, N.J. Like TEB, Morristown and Newark Liberty International Airports were shut down at noon on Saturday, with the latter two restarting operations by Sunday evening.

 Jersey’s Teterboro Airport (TEB) honored 24 company flight departments and individuals with its annual Good Neighbor Awards at the NBAA Convention in October. Recipients for the year 2009 were recognized for adhering to TEB’s voluntary noise restraints limiting late-night arrivals and departures and prohibiting Stage II jet operations. Honorees also have received no violations or warnings under the airport’s mandatory noise rules.

Jet Aviation has launched the Jet Response mobile maintenance service program with mobile maintenance vehicles based at Boston/Bedford, Mass., and Teterboro airports. The service targets AOG operators in the Boston, White Plains and Teterboro areas. The trucks contain a fully functional workshop and benches complete with electronic data and supplies.

The business aviation forum held on June 10 at Teterboro Airport was NBAA’s largest and most successful regional exhibition to date, according to the organizers.
