Charter operator XOJet of San Carlos, Calif., announced with Cessna on Monday that it had ordered 30 Citation Xs worth $600 million. Yesterday, Bombardier joined XOJet in announcing that the companies had signed an agreement for XOJet’s purchase of 80 Challenger 300s, 20 firm and 60 on option, the largest single order to date for the Challenger 300. Total value of this order, if all options are exercised, is $1.9 billion.
VistaJet, a Swiss-based on-demand charter and aircraft management specialist with operations in Austria and Germany and expected to open in Asia in the near future, has ordered three Airbus Corporate Jetliners (ACJs), Airbus announced yesterday at the NBAA Convention.
Midcoast Aviation of East Cahokia, Ill., has taken delivery of the first of four Challenger 850s, all of which will be completed for VistaJet. The Canadian dedicated charter operator has a fleet primarily of medium- to long-range business jets and operates more than 275 flights monthly, carrying a total of some 500 passengers.
Bexair, the Bahrain-based executive charter firm, is set to take the size of its fleet into double digits with an order for a new Bombardier Challenger 605. The company is also preparing to open several new international bases and wants to develop
as a business aviation services group.
Recognizing the complexity customers face when they have to work with multiple people during maintenance, Bombardier has created customer support teams that will provide a single point of contact for customers 24 hours a day. The company has opened customer response centers in Montreal, for Challenger and Global operators, and in Wichita for Learjet operators.
In a ceremony yesterday that briefly took on the appearance of a celebratory conga line at the Bombardier stand (Booth No. 7500), three customers signed contracts for a total of four aircraft valued at approximately $101.4 million.
Bombardier Aerospace is another manufacturer celebrating the rapid growth of European business aviation, announcing that Zug, Switzerland-based VistaJet has added to its existing all-Bombardier fleet.
