Pilatus Business Aircraft (Booth No. 228) reports that despite some cancellations and delivery deferrals of its single-engine Next Generation PC-12 this year, it has maintained production rates at its plant in Switzerland. The company is confident that the turboprop’s improved avionics, completely new cockpit and more powerful engine will see it through the global aerospace crisis.

Northstar Aerospace Turbine Engine Service Group has a new name: Mint Turbines. Operations and personnel of the turbine engine repair and overhaul facility in Stroud, Okla., remain as before privately owned Mint Turbines acquired Northstar on May 27. Dornier’s twin-turboprop all-composite Seastar CD2 made its first appearance at the EAA AirVenture show in Oshkosh, Wis., in July, the first stop in a tour of North America that included demo flights in Vancouver, Canada, and Seattle, culminating in a visit to the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in Monterey, Calif., in August. At Oshkosh, “The response was much greater than anticipated,” said Dornier Seaplane CEO Joe Walker.
Sky Aircraft, based in Chambley in France’s Lorraine region, is part of GECI International, which also includes Reims Aviation, maker of the F406 twin turboprop. GECI is also a supplier to manufacturers Airbus on the A380 and A350 XWB programs and Dassault on the 7X program. The SK-105 Skylander is a high-wing twin turboprop powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-65B engines.
StandardAero has received supplemental type certification (STC) to remove Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-41 or -42 series engines on the Beechcraft King Air 200/200C/B200/B200C and replace them with PT6A-52 engines and four-blade Hartzell propellers. It is the same engine and propeller combination that is type certified on the new Beechcraft King Air B200GT.

Vector Aerospace’s Helicopter Services Rolls-Royce 250 repair facility in Lewisville, Texas, is consolidating with the Vector Engine Services Atlantic Pratt & Whitney Canada engine repair station in Southlake, Texas, to create a combined engine repair operation. The facilities offer repair station support for the Rolls-Royce 250 and Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A, JT15D and PW100.
BBA Aviation engine repair and overhaul company H+S Aviation has been awarded distributor and designated overhaul facility authorization by Pratt & Whitney Canada. The authorization covers the repair and overhaul of all models of the P&WC PT6T TwinPac engine used primarily on Bell and Agusta/Bell 212s and 412s. The company also services the Rolls-Royce 250/T63/T703 and General Electric T700 and CT7 turboshaft engines.
Blue Sky Avgroup, which filed a lawsuit against kit aircraft manufacturer Epic Air on June 5, amended its suit to add Epic sister companies Aircraft Completion Services and Aircraft Investor Resources; founder and 42-percent owner Richard Schrameck; Jeff Sanders, who owned 47 percent of the companies; and Michael Shealy, owner of 11 percent of the three companies.
