Lufthansa Private Jets confirmed the relaunch of its partnership with NetJets Europe, following the closure of its Swiss Private Aviation subsidiary. The German airline has also announced plans to expand its executive charter service into Middle Eastern and U.S. markets later this year. Under the new arrangement, Lufthansa passengers will be able to book flights in NetJets aircraft with as little as 10 hours’ notice.

Lufthansa Group’s Supervisory Board has approved the acquisition of 40 Airbus aircraft worth some $4.3 billion, the European airframer announced today. Planned to fly with Lufthansa and two of the group’s subsidiaries, the batch of airplanes consists of 20 A320-family jets and three A330-300s for Lufthansa, four A320-family aircraft and five A330-300s for Swiss and eight A319s for Germanwings.

Bombardier is about to freeze the design of its C Series airliner, marking the end of the project’s joint definition phase and the official start of the detailed design phase. Swiss business jet operator Comlux The Aviation Group has taken delivery of an Airbus A318 Elite newly completed by Hamburg-based Lufthansa Technik in four months and one week. The aircraft is the 10th Airbus A318 Elite completed by Lufthansa Technik since it began such work in 2006. Lufthansa Technik is also part of the Airbus-approved service center network.
