UK-based Spectro and its U.S. sister company Jet-Care (Booth No. C3516), providers of equipment condition monitoring services, announced their appointment by AgustaWestland as approved suppliers for debris and oil analysis services for all AW139s. Spectro and Jet-Care utilize the advanced analytical capabilities of scanning electron microscopes for in-depth examination of debris recovered from oil samples, filters or chip detectors, allowing detailed investigation into the metallic and non-metallic debris, helping to pinpoint the component generating the debris.

Duncan Aviation Lincoln’s nondestructive testing (NDT) team has added weekend shift coverage to help meet shorter turn-time demands while enhancing customer service. “We needed to add a weekend shift to serve our internal and external customers better and meet the shorter turn times they were requesting,” said Marty Lincoln, Duncan Aviation’s accessories manager. The addition calls for both new hires and the repositioning of existing team members.
Aviation insurance underwriter USAIG (Booth No. N1916) is highlighting additions and improvements to its Performance Vector aircraft operator safety initiative, which focuses on human factors elements that may lead to aviation accidents.
Atlantic Aero has received FAA approval to add the Cessna Citation X to its repair station license. The MRO has invested more than $150,000 in new tooling, training and other related expenses to support Citation X certification. The company has a long history working with the type by providing interior updates for Citation X operators, and the addition of the product to Atlantic Aero’s repair license enables the facility to provide maintenance.
M1 Composites Technology recently opened an advanced composites repair facility “to meet increasing corporate, commercial and military demand,” Lorenzo Marandola, president and founder, told AIN. The 24,000-sq-ft facility features a certified clean room, large curing oven, paint finishing operation and a full complement of repair equipment.
The MRO also recently received its Transport Canada approval for composite and metallic repairs.
Dallas Executive Airport-based AAT Aircraft Maintenance, an FAA-approved Part 145 repair station, has added several makes and models to its repair station certificate. To complement its existing approvals for the Gulfstream II/IIB/II-SP/III/IV and Hawker 700/800/800XP, it has added accreditation for the Falcon 50/50EX, Learjet 60 and King Air 200. The additional certification allows the MRO to perform light to heavy maintenance and major repairs and modifications. The MRO is also in the process of acquiring Mexican DGAC repair certification.
Singapore Technologies Engineering has completed the acquisition of 100-percent equity interest in Volant Aerospace. Volant provides new and refurbished interior parts and support services to aircraft operators, leasing companies, integrators and maintenance, repair and overhaul service providers.
Sterling Partners, a private-equity firm, has purchased Tulsa, Okla.-based pilot and maintenance technician training school Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology. Sterling Partners also owns Desert NDT, a non-destructive testing services provider to the oil and gas industry. In addition to pilots and aircraft technicians, Spartan trains NDT technicians. Spartan grants bachelor’s degrees and has graduated about 90,000 students since it was founded in 1928.
Odyssey Aerospace Components, a manufacturer of business jet interior cabinetry and components, is hiring, with jobs open for cabinetry manufacturers and stress engineers. The company recently hired John Turner, who “is responsible for engineering leadership while meeting the company’s vision and customer-centric goals.” Turner most recently worked at Weber Aircraft and holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, master’s in industrial engineering and was a commissioned officer in the U.S. Air Force.
