Atlanta, Ga.-based Precision Aviation Group (PAG) has acquired Gardner Aviation Specialist. GAS, a Peachtree City, Ga.-based company, is an FAA repair station offering avionics installations, glass-panel upgrades, aircraft maintenance and MRO services. The acquisition allows PAG to expand the services it provides to customers operating fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft. GAS operates out of a 35,000-sq-ft hangar on Falcon Field.

Paradigm International’s Paradigm Aerospace helicopter support services subsidiary (Booth No. 1021) has delivered a Bell 407, above, with extensive upgrades to client HeliJet Solutions. The job by the Mt. Pleasant, Pa.-based aviation services provider included avionics, interior and exterior upgrades, as well as a distinctive new exterior paint scheme.

Air India will expand MRO capabilities at its Mumbai, India facility to include GE90 engine overhaul. The current schedule calls for the Mumbai facility to be certified for basic GE90 MRO by next year. According to the company, Air India plans to build a new MRO facility in Nagpur, India, that will include GE90 testing capabilities.

There are many resources available for SMS implementation. Of course, any operator can peruse FAA Advisory Circular 120-92A for the particulars and use that to create an SMS. Even in regulatory climates where SMS is required, as will be the case in Europe next year, there is no requirement to use a particular system to create an SMS. IS-BAO is internationally recognized, however, and may be easier for authorities to understand.

StandardAero has added PW100 engine maintenance, repair and overhaul capability in Winnipeg, Canada. Pratt & Whitney Canada has approved the site as a PW100 designated overhaul facility.

Enterprise Jet Center evolved from Enterprise Products, a gas and oil company that opened a flight department in 1979. The latter’s original 30,000-sq-ft facility remains among the new company’s holdings on Hobby Airport.

The Russian United Business Aviation Association is well aware of illegal charter flying in the country and is deeply concerned about it, according to the group’s vice president, Eugeny Bakhtin. He told AIN the association is urging authorities to adopt Western standards to iron out legal anomalies that allow the so-called gray market to thrive there.

Eastway Jet Services was established in 1985 as a maintenance facility open to the public and was located in a 1,000-sq-ft hangar at Islip’s MacArthur Airport. In 1992, Eastway formed ExcelAire to operate an aircraft management company and now also offers aircraft charter. It is Argus Gold and Wyvern Wingman rated.
