Internet aviation information provider Globalair.com announced the debut of FBO Fuel Prices, its first real-time iPhone and iPad application designed specifically for locating FBOs with the most competitive fuel prices. Based on user-sortable criteria, the app searches for locations and generates a map and a list of the area airports reporting fuel.

Eclipse Aerospace said the FAA has approved Eclipse 500s to return to a maximum certified ceiling of 41,000 feet, effective immediately upon the installation of the recently recertified combustion liners.

The FAA has cleared all Eclipse 500 very light jets to return to a maximum certified service ceiling of 41,000 feet, contingent upon the installation of recently recertified combustion liners. Eclipse Aerospace and Pratt & Whitney Canada worked together to resolve carbon buildup on the static vanes of a limited number of P&WC PW610F engines.

Rockwell Collins has developed a touchscreen interface for the Pro Line Fusion avionics suite, the company announced on Sunday at EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wis. While no OEM yet has ordered Pro Line Fusion with the touchscreen interface, the touchscreen capability will be certified in 2013 and it is expected to appear in future Pro Line Fusion cockpits.

JetCorp Technical Services of Chesterfield, Mo., has received an STC for the Aircell cabin telecommunications router (CTR) on a Challenger 300. Installation and certification of the CTR provides in-cabin Wi-Fi capability for Aircell’s Gogo Biz in-flight Internet connection.

Eclipse Aerospace received FAA approval for its newly redesigned PhostrEx fire-suppression system canister on the Eclipse 500. The new, all-welded canister stores contents at a lower pressure, resolving the leakage problems the original design encountered. The improved PhostrEx canister was tested extensively and consistently met all design specifications, Eclipse said.

L-3’s Interstate Electronics Corp. is bringing full-motion video and data generated by aerial platforms into the hands of ground-level troops via smartphones using Google’s Android operating system. The latest version of its Video Scout system is being demonstrated here at the Paris Air Show (Static F186) using real-time data from L-3 Wescam MX-15i and MX-10 sensors.

Middle East flight operations support provider Nexus has teamed with Argus International, an aviation safety management company based in Cincinnati, Ohio, to bring Argus’s services to the Middle East and North Africa. Nexus, which is a subsidiary of the MAZ Aviation Group, announced two new flight operations centers in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain in December.

ForeFlight has added geo-referenced approach plates and airport diagrams to its Apple iPad, iPhone and iPod touch application. The new ForeFlight HD Pro costs $149.99 per year and includes geo-referenced charts and airport diagrams provided by Seattle Avionics. ForeFlight HD subscribers can upgrade and receive credit for remaining HD subscriptions.
