Pratt & Whitney Resumes GTF Production

UTC doesn’t expect the knife-edge seal issue affecting 98 PW1100G-JM engines to affect P&W’s GTF 2018 production performance.

After reverting to a former configuration for the knife-edge seal attached to the high-pressure compressor aft hub in PW1000G GTF engines, Pratt & Whitney resumed PW1000G production in the second week of February.
