Dallas Airmotive expanding Rolls Model 250 MRO work

Responding to increased demand for Rolls-Royce Model 250 turbine engine overhaul and repair, Dallas Airmotive has expanded its services and added a pair of regional sales managers.

Since moving the repair and overhaul of R-R 250 series engines from Dallas to its Premier Turbines facility in Neosho, Mo., Dallas Airmotive reports “a significant increase in R&O activity in North America for these popular engines.” In response, the Grapevine, Texas-based turbine engine specialist has extended its Rolls-Royce authorized maintenance center agreement through 2009 and has upgraded capabilities of the Neosho facility. Premier Turbines, with decades of experience on a military version of the Rolls-Royce 250–the T703–has enhanced its test cell capabilities to cover all Model 250 series engines including those featuring FADEC.

Dallas Airmotive also conducts Model 250 support operations at module repair and overhaul service sites in Dayton, Ohio, and Phoenix. Its Lafayette, La. facility provides component repair and exchange. H+S Aviation, in Portsmouth, England, an affiliate company, is the authorized Rolls-Royce maintenance center for Europe and Africa.

Dallas Airmotive, holding forth this week at Heli-Expo Booth No. 1149, has appointed Greg Houston to be engine sales manager for its Western U.S. region, and John (Tony) Bagley in the same capacity for the southeast region. “Both of these men have decades of experience in supporting rotor-wing customers,” said Dennis DiMarco, v-p, North American sales. Houston and Bagley bring long backgrounds as turbine engine technicians to their new posts. Based in Phoenix, Houston will cover the states of California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming and Montana.

From a north Florida base, Bagley will serve customers from the Gulf Coast east of the Mississippi up to West Virginia and Virginia.

Dallas Airmotive is part of the BBA Aviation Services Group, which also includes Signature Flight Support, International Turbine Service, Barrett Turbine Engine Co. and H+S Aviation.
