Rainsford Mann Design (RMD) opened its doors as an aircraft cabin concept designer in January last year, teaming with independent completion and refurbishment center Altitude Aerospace Interiors of Auckland, New Zealand, to create a bespoke 787-8 interior.
Since then, RMD Air has taken on redesign of a Global 5000, as well as a preliminary study concept for a BBJ2 client.
According to managing director Rupert Mann, the move into private aviation was prompted by the fact that many of the company’s yacht clients also own private jets. Mann discovered that “the cross-over from yacht interiors to aircraft interiors is fairly seamless, with clearly defined adjustments having been made to cater to the more stringent regulations and technical requirements.”
London-based RMD Air focuses primarily on the large-cabin and narrow-body aircraft market, providing bespoke interior design and matching exterior paint livery.
