EASA Updates AOA Airworthiness Directive

Just a week after release of an airworthiness directive to address blockages in the angle-of-attack (AOA) systems installed on Airbus A330/340s, the European Aviation Safety Agency has included other models of the Airbus series in the procedural updates. Effective immediately, all models of the Airbus A318, A319, A320 and A321, including Airbus Corporate Jet versions of the single-aisle airliners, are covered by the directive, 2012-0264E. The earlier AD resulted from an A330 incident in which all three AOA probes became blocked, leading to autopilot disconnection due to the unreliability of the information being presented.
