The first formal agreement between a major global avionics manufacturer and a Russian-based aviation solutions provider was enacted via a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed between Rockwell Collins (Booth No. 8040) and St. Petersburg, Russia-based Transas Aviation.
Transas provides both products and solutions for marine and aviation fixed-wing and helicopter equipment, flight simulators and training devices, safety systems, geo-information systems, UAVs and unmanned marine vehicles in Russia and 130 other countries. Rockwell Collins sees the MOU as a way to begin expanding its footprint in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) abutting it. Transas Aviation stands to gain access to Rockwell Collins global business development and engineering capabilities, certification expertise and its service and support network.
“I am sure that combining intellectual potential and marketing strengths of our two companies will allow us to create unique and compelling offerings for domestic Russia and CIS clients,” said Igor Strokin, general director of Transas.
