Sentient Flight Group today completed the acquisition of TAG Aviation USA from Switzerland-based TAG Aviation Holding, a deal announced in late October not long after the FAA revoked the charter certificate of TAG Aviation USA subsidiary AMI Jet Charter due largely to operational control issues. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Sentient also today announced the formation of the Sentient aircraft management division and tapped former TAG Aviation USA president and CEO Jake Cartwright, as well as the former TAG Aviation USA management team, to lead the division. Cartwright, who reports directly to Sentient CEO Steven Hankin, is the president of the division and oversees the consolidated Sentient management fleet, including aircraft exclusively flown under Part 91 and those flying for both owners and charter clients under Parts 91 and 135, respectively. “We’re very pleased to complete this deal, which solidifies our position as a leader in private aviation,” said Hankin. The company’s new aircraft management group will integrate Sentient’s existing fleet management team and TAG Aviation USA’s aircraft management structure. Clients seeking outside charter revenue will have access to jet demand generated by Sentient’s jet membership and charter clients.
