Attendance at EBACE 2010 reached 11,106 registered visitors by the time the halls closed yesterday. With new visitors expected today, this is set to be the show’s second-most-attended year if it passes the 11,267 total achieved in 2007. Last year’s event had the highest attendance to date, with 13,692 showgoers. Aircraft manufacturers have been logging business aircraft sales during the show, though not at the pace of two years ago. Still, the level of sales activity–and interest–seen at this year’s EBACE indicates that the market segment is well on the road to recovery. Meanwhile, business aviation traffic activity is also rising in Europe, according to data released by Eurocontrol this week at EBACE. “Business aviation took off again in 2010, with a [year-over-year] growth of 11 percent in March. This is in strong contrast to flights as a whole across Europe in March, which indeed grew after 17 consecutive months of decline, but only at 1.6 percent.”
