Following its recent Civil Aviation Administration of China approval as a Part 145 maintenance organization, Shanghai Hawker Pacific Business Aviation Service Centre (SHPBASC) has completed its first (and China’s first by an authorized service center and independent MRO) scheduled maintenance inspection on a Chinese-registered corporate aircraft. The MRO completed the work on an unspecified Chinese-owned and -operated midsize business jet last month.
SHPBASC also claims to be the first authorized service center in China for business aviation and last year became the first independent MRO to be certified in the country. The facility is an approved authorized service center for Hawker Beechcraft.
“The work went extremely well and the customer was delighted with the speed and quality of the maintenance. We’re quite proud of our team’s contribution to this historic event in China’s rapidly evolving business aviation sector,” said Ross Nicholls, the MRO’s director of maintenance. Located at Shanghai’s Hongqiao International Airport, the 43,000-sq-ft maintenance facility is adjacent to Shanghai’s first FBO, which opened in April 2010.
