Blackcomb Aviation has been named a Daher-Socata TBM authorized service center. The designation allows the Vancouver International Airport (YVR)-based MRO to provide support for the growing fleet in Western Canada.
“We already have two TBM 850s based at YVR, but there are more than a hundred TBMs based on the Western seaboard of North America or about a quarter of the entire North American fleet. As a result of this designation we’ve begun to see a rise in demand for transient aircraft maintenance. We see a significant market potential for TBM maintenance,” Chris Frey, Blackcomb Aviation’s director of maintenance, told AIN.
The MRO has a staff of nine maintenance employees, including five certified technicians. The company has been providing management services for turboprop business aircraft, helicopters and private jets since 1989.
Blackcomb Aviation currently operates 18 helicopters and eight fixed-wing aircraft from bases in Vancouver, Squamish, Whistler, Pemberton, Lillooet, Bridge River Valley, Sechelt and Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, in addition to a U.S. operation in Scottsdale, Ariz.
