Gulfstream Aerospace has enhanced its support for operators attending major U.S.-based events with the addition of its biggest and most capable Field and Airborne Support Teams (Fast) vehicle to date. The specially equipped 74-foot tractor trailer can support line-service repairs, engine exchanges, post-flight and storage inspections, unscheduled inspections and cabin interior repairs. It is outfitted with a satellite dish, computer for technical data access, work stations, lounge/office, interior lighting, compressed air and HVAC powered by on-board generator and a kitchen area with refrigerator and freezer.
A Gulfstream spokesman told AIN, “The cab was customized to safely accommodate a driver and up to six passengers, so there’s plenty of room to transport the necessary personnel.”
The Savannah-based tractor trailer joins four smaller trucks based in the San Francisco area (Hayward, Calif); Van Nuys, Calif.; Houston Hobby; and Teterboro (N.J.). Fast also has more than 20 lighter-duty trucks across the U.S. and Europe with local, dedicated technicians.
Gulfstream expects to deploy the Fast tractor trailer to support operators attending 20 events this year, including the Daytona 500 (February 23) in Daytona Beach, Fla., the Masters Tournament (April 10-13) in Augusta, Ga., and the Gulfstream Operators and Suppliers Conference (June 8-12) in Savannah.
