Hughes 369D, Columbus, Mont., May 28, 2007 – The Dylan Aviation Hughes 369 lost power and crashed, killing one crewmember. The pilot and another crewmember received serious injuries and the helicopter was destroyed.
Embraer E170, San Francisco, Calif., May 26, 2007 – The Republic Airlines Embraer E170 and Skywest Airlines Embraer Brasilia almost collided at the intersection of Runway 1L and Runway 28R at San Francisco International Airport.
Hughes 369A, Moulton, Ala., May 13, 2007 – The commercial pilot was killed and the helicopter was destroyed when it crashed in the Bankhead National Forest in Alabama in VMC. The pilot had just bought the helicopter and was ferrying it from Florida to Kansas.
Last month the FAA selected five airports to participate in the Military Airport Program (MAP). The purpose of the program is intended to provide funding to upgrade military airports for civil or joint use as a means of boosting capacity.
The Clark County Department of Aviation hopes to issue up to $400 million in bonds to help finance land purchases and construction at three existing southern Nevada airports and the proposed new international airport site in Ivanpah Valley.
