ERC System is set to announce plans for an uncrewed version of the lift-and-cruise eVTOL aircraft it is developing. The German company has opted to prioritize hybrid-electric versions of both the uncrewed and crewed models to deliver the range and payload it feels are needed to satisfy initial special logistics applications for the aircraft.

India’s aviation sector is pressing the country’s regulators to step up efforts to create a legal framework for eVTOL aircraft. The process appears to be lagging despite Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi having urged the industry to “leapfrog straight into aerial mobility.”

Brazilian business aviation services group Synerjet plans to buy 10 of Regent Craft’s Viceroy Seaglider electric-powered wing-in-ground-effect vessels. The companies announced the agreement on February 4, with Regent saying it aims to start deliveries in 2029.

Indian seaplane operator Maritime Energy Heli Air Services plans to operate the new hybrid-electric Polaris model being developed by U.S. start-up Tidal Flight. The companies signed a memorandum of understanding on February 4 covering five firm orders and five options for the aircraft, which will seat up to 12 passengers.

Embraer-CAE Training Services has ordered its first full-flight simulator for training pilots to operate Eve Air Mobility’s eVTOL aircraft. CAE, which runs the joint venture with Eve’s parent company Embraer, announced the order on February 5.

ST Engineering AirX’s wing-in-ground effect craft, AirFish Voyager, is set to enter service later this year with Singaporean ferry operator BatamFast. The start of commercial operations is subject to International Maritime Organization certification of the vessel, which the ST Engineering Commercial Aerospace business subsidiary says is on track for mid-2026.

Vertical Aerospace has selected Evolito to supply the electric propulsion units for its Valo eVTOL aircraft. Under an agreement announced on February 5, Evolito will provide lightweight electric motors and DAL-A power electronics integrated into the electric motors that drive the aircraft’s four fixed rotors and four tilting propellers.
