Beta Technologies is seeking to raise more than $1 billion through an initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange. The electric aircraft developer offered 29,852,941 Class A shares priced at $34 when the market opened on November 4, while also granting underwriters a 30-day option to purchase an additional 4,477,941 shares. 


Falcon Aviation Services has ordered 50 AutoFlight eVTOL aircraft, including 15 cargo and 35 passenger variants, for use in the UAE. The first batch of aircraft is set to be delivered from China by year-end and will be used to support the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company.


Christchurch Airport in New Zealand is now equipped with liquid hydrogen fuel tanks as part of preparations for flight testing for a pair of hydrogen-electric aircraft. On October 28, locally-based company Fabrum unveiled its triple-skin composite fuel tank at a new test facility developed in partnership with aircraft manufacturers AMSL Aero and Stralis Aircraft.


As multiple urban air mobility developers jostle to launch commercial services in the Middle East, Eve Air Mobility is to evaluate passenger-carrying eVTOL routes within the region. A newly forged partnership with Bahrain could see these commence domestically as soon as 2028, the Embraer spin-off announced on November 3.


Sustainable aviation fuel will make only a marginal contribution to reducing aircraft emissions before 2030, according to a new report published on October 30 by Carbon Tracker. The UK-based independent financial think tank’s “Fuel Disclosure” report concluded that alternatives to jet-A are “unlikely to make a significant dent” in emissions this decade.


French aircraft manufacturer Aura Aero has opened the first of two production sites in the U.S. A ribbon-cutting event on October 30 marked the inauguration of its 11,000-sq-ft facility within Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Research Park in Daytona Beach, where the company will build its Integral family of light aircraft.


Korean Air has completed Korea’s first urban air mobility (UAM) validation flights, which were performed in a test corridor in the South Korean city of Incheon. The test flights, conducted using a helicopter, served to validate traffic management and flight operations associated with potential future UAM services.
