A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

Following the release of the 2023 year-end delivery numbers by the General Aviation Manufacturers Association, Embraer announced that for the 12th consecutive year, its Phenom 300 was the best-selling jet in its class, with 63 of the series delivered last year. It was also the top-selling twinjet for the fourth year in a row.
Over the past decade, the Brazil-based airframer has delivered more than 730 of the light jets, with the fleet surpassing 2 million flight hours. Its U.S. customers flew their Phenom 300s more than 360,000 times last year.
With its high-speed cruise of 464 knots, the Phenom 300 is also the fastest light jet in production, and it has a five-occupant range of 2,010 nautical miles with NBAA IFR reserves.&nbsp;
Its avionics include the first Runway Overrun Awareness and Alerting System to be certified for a business jet as well as other innovative features such as an Autothrottle, Coupled Go-around, and Emergency Descent Mode.
“For more than a decade the aircraft has earned well-deserved recognition and continues to excel in terms of performance, technology, comfort, and support,” said Michael Amalfitano, CEO of the OEM’s executive jet division. “With our ongoing dedication to our loyal customers, we will continue to develop the program based on customer feedback, industry trends, and new technologies.”
