Kerry Lynch stepped into the role of editor of the&nbsp;Aviation International News&nbsp;monthly magazine in May 2022 after serving with&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;for eight years. She joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in December 2014 as a senior editor covering Washington and business aviation news. She has also served on Convention News teams, including as editor of&nbsp;HAI Convention News. Lynch previously spent 25 years with Aviation Week. During her time there, she reported for and later steered&nbsp;The Weekly of Business Aviation, oversaw business aviation content on the&nbsp;Aviation Week Intelligence Network, served on the&nbsp;Show News&nbsp;staff, and held roles as the Washington columnist for&nbsp;Business &amp; Commercial Aviation&nbsp;and&nbsp;Overhaul &amp; Maintenance&nbsp;monthly magazines. In 2021 she was honored with the National Business Aviation Association Platinum Wing Award for lifetime achievement in journalism and was the 2004 recipient of the National Air Transportation Association’s Aviation Journalism Excellence Award. She also has been a recipient of an Aerospace Media Award for business aviation (2022) and NBAA Gold Wing Award (2003, 2024). Lynch graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor of arts in journalism.

Airbus continues to rack up orders with announcements of agreements from Philippine Airlines (PAL) and Shohin Airlines for 13 more Airbus airliners.
PAL signed a memorandum of understanding for nine A350-1000s, while Shohin Airlines, a start-up based in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, signed a deal for two A320neo and two A321neo aircraft in its first Airbus order. The latter was included in Airbus’ end-of-June order book as an undisclosed contract. These come in addition to the orders for 106 Airbus narrow- and widebodies announced on the opening day of the show.
Once finalized, the PAL order will double the airline’s total A350-1000 orders to 18 aircraft, the first two of which were delivered this year. Designated as PAL’s new flagship, the A350-1000 will enable the carrier to continue to expand its long-haul network, linking Manila with cities on the East Coast of the U.S. and Canada.
PAL is seeking a three-class configuration for the fleet that can accommodate 382 passengers. This includes 42 business class suites with privacy doors and fully flat beds, 24 seats in premium economy, and 316 seats in economy. All cabins will be equipped with the latest in-flight entertainment systems and connectivity.
“The A350-1000 will continue to define the future of our international operations for many years to come,” said PAL Holdings president and chief operating officer Lucio C. Tan III. “As the first and currently the only airline in Southeast Asia to operate the Airbus A350-1000, Philippine Airlines has experienced firsthand the aircraft’s exceptional range, fuel efficiency, reliability, and passenger comfort. It has expanded our reach across North America.”
In addition to the A350, PAL operates A330-300s to the Middle East, Australia, and Asia, alongside the A320/321 single-aisle family on domestic and regional legs.
As for Shohin, the airline was registered in June 2025 and is planning to build a wide route network. “The signing of our first contract with Airbus marks a milestone not only for Shohin Airlines, but also for the entire civil aviation sector of Tajikistan,” said Shohin Airlines CEO Zafar Ahmadzoda. “The A320neo family aircraft will form the backbone of our airline’s modern, efficient, and environmentally sustainable fleet.”
The airline’s A320neos will be fitted with 176 seats while the A321neos will have 196 in a dual-class layout.
