Chad started his writing career at The Avion,&nbsp;the&nbsp;student newspaper at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida, serving as editor-in-chief before graduating with a bachelor's in aeronautical science. After a stint as managing editor at Professional Pilot&nbsp;magazine, he joined&nbsp;AIN in late 1998. <a href="?q=node/26622">Extra Aircraft’s attempt to build an assembly facility in Montrose, Colo.</a>, may have failed, but that has not stopped the company from delivering German-registered Extra 500 turboprop singles in the U.S. Extra president Errol Bader said the company has achieved EASA certification and expects FAA certification “shortly.” He also said the company is looking at new assembly facilities in Prescott, Ariz.; Ogden, Utah; and Pueblo, Colo., and will make a decision soon.
