Intercontinental Jet Service is set to open a new, 5,000-sq-ft propeller overhaul shop at Tulsa International Airport next door to the MRO’s current 45,000-sq-ft facility. The new location will specialize in overhaul, service and support of Hartzell, Dowty and McCauley propellers for both piston and turboprop operators.
Mark James, director of operations for the MRO, told AIN, “The FAA is inspecting today [November 14] and we anticipate we will be open for business by November 19 We’ve made about a $400,000 investment to add this new service and brought in Heath Tate to manage it. Heath has more than 20 years of experience in the propeller overhaul business. We will also be adding three more A&Ps within the next two months.”
Company-wide, Intercontinental Jet Service has 34 employees and it has a long history as a Honeywell TPE331 service center with airframe support, avionics modifications and accessory overhaul capabilities.
The Aircraft Product Support Division provides parts, publications, and service engineering for more than 300 MU-2s operating in North America.
