Embraer Executive Jets has introduced an auto-racing-inspired enhancement package of interior refurbishment options and exterior paint schemes for current Phenom 100 owners. Dubbed Phenom Ace as a nod to the racing theme, the upgrade aims to “bring a new life to the aircraft” while appealing to owners’ “passion for performance,” said company vice president of interior design Jay Beever.
The exterior paint scheme borrows a racing motif, replete with customized badging and a prominent Ace number, selected by the owner, signaling “exclusive team member status.” Inside, lighter seats inspired by structures with visible exoskeletons (such as the Eiffel Tower) will reveal “peeks” of exposed frame, highlighting their strength and functionality. Interior monuments such as drawers and cabinets will be replaced with lighter carbon-fiber versions.
The lightened interior components will yield higher airspeed, as well as greater payload and range, according to Embraer. Upgrade costs vary, since each refurbishment will be customized.
BMW DesignworksUSA designed the original interior for the Phenom 100. About 350 of the entry-level jets are operating worldwide, and half of them are based in the U.S., according to Embraer.
